Our natural swimming pool

Come and enjoy our outdoor pool! It lies in the garden and is only open to those staying with us, so no outside visitors come to swim. You share it with the guests of our four rooms, and once in a while our family comes to enjoy it for a moment too. We cannot offer the pool to a single room on its own.

Our pool is natural and unheated: we keep the water clean without chlorine or chemical products. We do this naturally, with plants, a finely tuned filter system and a living biological balance. That makes the water feel softer, and it sometimes looks a little more natural than you are used to from a classic pool. A light green tint or some life in and around the water is part of it and is perfectly normal and healthy. The water is not heated and follows the temperature of nature, so it always stays refreshing, even on the hottest days.

That natural balance is a little delicate, though. With a few simple house rules we keep the water clear, and the pool stays a calm, familiar place where everyone can enjoy themselves, with respect for each other's privacy.

  • Before you get in

    • Preferably apply sunscreen only after swimming, or choose a biodegradable one.
    • Don't use soap, shampoo or other care products in or right next to the water.

  • Out of respect for nature

    • Leave the marginal and water plants alone. They do the real work of keeping the water clear.
    • Don't throw anything into the water — including food scraps or drinks.
    • Our dogs don't swim along; we keep the pool area pet-free.

  • Enjoying it safely

    • Swimming is at your own risk. There is no lifeguard or supervisor present.
    • Children are very welcome, but always stay under adult supervision.
    • The water is 1.4 m deep throughout. Only dive where it's deep enough.
    • Keep glassware away from the water — a broken glass happens fast. Feel free to ask us for unbreakable cups.

  • Enjoying the quiet together

    • Swimming is possible between 7 am and 9 pm. Outside those hours, let's give each other — and the neighbours — some peace and quiet.
    • Please keep it quiet, especially early in the morning and late in the evening.
    • Tidy up your things after your swim, so it stays just as inviting for the next guest.

  • Practical

    • Pool towels can be rented from us for 5€ each. Using the towels from your room is not allowed.
    • Change and shower in the privacy of your room.
